Episode XCIII: Star Tours and the Trailer

Recorded 11/28/14

The full panel, Amy, Bobby, Bryan, and Mike, convene to discuss the first teaser trailer for “The Force Awakens.” Then, they continue with their regularly scheduled program, discussing the Disney attraction Star Tours in depth, taking you behind the scenes, and in the front row. Since half the panel has never been on Star Tours, this is the perfect episode for those curious about it and for those who are confirmed Disney-nerds.

Thanks For Listening & May The Force Be With You… Always!

  1. Okay, since you mentioned Disney Jail, I have to name drop Skywalking Through Neverland and their episode 46 which included a full discussion of everything you’d ever want to know about Disney jail (http://skywalkingthroughneverland.com/episode-46-dragon-con-darth-maul-disney-jail/)

  2. Joel from California

I used to work at Disneyland/California Adventure (before Star Tours 2.0) as a ride operator and rumor was that the rebel pilot that shows up on the view-screen to the right of the main screen before the Death Star blows up was Chevy Chase!

I was working Soarin’ over CA and got on the phone with the crew over there, but they couldn’t confirm. We dialed up Star Tours in Florida and they laughed at us, but they couldn’t say one way or the other either.

Later that day a small group of us got to ride repeatedly (as a special favor from one attraction to another) to try and see with our own eyes and verify this potential cameo. As it turns out, the rebel pilot just sort of looked like Chevy Chase with goggles and an X-Wing pilot helmet.

I’m sure there’s video on YouTube that you can check and see the old ride footage for yourself.

    Good times.
