Episode CXXVII: The (First) Clone Wars

Recorded 8/8/15

After touching ever-so-briefly on newsy (ish) subjects like blu-ray releases and midichlorian counts, Amy Ratcliffe decides that today will be the day Bryan Young and Bobby Roberts join her in a discussion one one of the most important pieces of Star Wars you’ve probably already forgotten about: Genndy Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars. Join us for a look back at the microseries that changed the way people looked at Star Wars, including the people making it today.

If you like the show, please leave us iTunes/Stitcher reviews and share us with your friends and family! We’d greatly appreciate it.

  1. I actually decided to buy this on dvd when I found out that it wasn’t canon anymore and in the UK it’s quite cheap on Amazon, about £5 for volume 1 and £9 for volume 2. Even though it’s not officially canon anymore I still count it as head canon as there hasn’t specifically been anything in Dave filonis Clone Wars to recon it (sure there’s the mentioned conflict on Mon calamari but I just view those as 2 separate events that occurred at different times in the war) and I think it provides a great start and end to the clone wars with Dave filonis show sandwiched In the middle. It’s a great example of visual story telling that George lucas should have taken a leaf from, especially with his script writing for the prequels (even if he had made 2 of them when the show came out). This is a great show that I will never forget

  2. Justin U.

Except that there is. At the beginning, it was stated that the only things that are officially canon are the six films and the Clone Wars series/film. And beyond that, aside from a few exceptions, only material released after April of last year are a part of the new canon.
